HIDDEN IN NATURE
Hidden life thrives secretly in the shallow waters. Sunlight seeps through, revealing the rich diversity of life. Some surface the water, while others wash away to coastal shores captivating the eyes of wandering souls.
Jewelry and fashion can function as a material reflection of a society. With the use of fabric and metal, I challenge the traditional concepts of wearability and the connections between apparel, jewelry and the skin.
“Armada” or “armed” is inspired by the armored metalwork worn by Spanish conquistadores who took over the island of Puerto Rico while enslaving women. Each, is associating with a natural element, celebrating their feminine and existence.
